Clinical review of fragrance contact allergy: an estimated 1.7-4.1% of the general population is sensitized to fragrance-mix ingredients and about 10% of patch-tested eczema patients react; fragrance materials occur in 15-100% of cosmetic products; allergy predominates in women with facial or hand eczema.

Retrospective analysis of NACDG data 2007-2016 (n=24,246): 22.7% had fragrance- or botanical-related allergy; fragrance mix I (10.6%), Myroxylon pereirae/balsam of Peru (8%) and fragrance mix II (4.9%) were leading allergens, with rising trends for fragrance mix I and II; sensitized patients were more often female and older than 40.
