Emulgels combining bioadhesive carbomer 974P with poloxamer 407 for topical copaiba oil-resin were studied. Carbomer 974P enabled viscous, physicochemically stable emulgels; its amount, oil content and temperature influenced mechanical/rheological properties, drug release and ex-vivo skin permeation, improving formulation retention at the application site and controlled release.
