Of 23 stratum-corneum natural-moisturizing-factor components measured in 196 women, six amino acids including glycine (with alanine, arginine, asparagine, glutamine and histidine) correlated with higher facial skin hydration; their combined level peaked at ages 25-29 then declined with age, tracking texture, pores, wrinkles and dullness.
